On Wednesday the swim team had the team photo taken, this was the first time I’ve got my kit off since I was on holiday in LA, you know…when that stuff is normal >_>. I was nervous because I was 99% sure that our team was the only one who’s kit makes us half naked. Some people came late but eventually we got the team together and got this shot.
It’s not that hard to pick me out there? Is it? Ah Black swimmers…a dying race…
So how do you feel about ya know? Showing skin in public…before it was a definite NO NO from me and always uncomfortable but the fitter I got the more comfortable I got in my skin, when you get closer to your physical goals you do start to like what you see more in the mirror ;)
It was quite funny though because everyone that walked past the picture area could see us, but by then it didn’t matter lol.
My friend also said that there’s these weekly 5k runs in Finsbury Park on saturdays so I thought I’ll hit that up next week :)
So…I ate a McChicken Sandwich Meal, Super Noodles and Pasta Bake! Can’t really say it’s a moment of weakness I should know better but lately I have been having more junk food just because I…can? It’s really an odd one. Anyway I only ate like that because I knew I had an intense swimming session later, the food helped me! I didn’t have a PB for 50m free so now my PB is 32.6 (roughly) secs which is good for me without a dive and a poor turn I guess! Here’s the rest of the details on me swim…
More press-ups and varying crunches for me tonight then…body is all healed up!
Went back to University last week, it was weird after having a good 3 weeks off to you know…do nothing!
Got 2 good swims in and on friday morning I was quite late for circuit training so we did the bleep test to level 10 and 250 varying crunches, abs have been on fire ever since then tbh…
Later on that day I went to my friends to work out chest and triceps…It was such a good day for exercise, more of the same this week hopefully! Haven’t been on here enough lately and it’s my fault, tumblr’s so good because it helps with my structure too.
Any other swimmers out there btw? My swims from last week are on my Runkeeper, a friend’s trying to improve my kicking and breathing while swimming. It should pay off in the long run! Have a good week everyone.
I set myself a goal, and I did it, running 10 miles lately was just in my mind and I’ve been meaning to do this run for about 2 weeks so it was nice to finally get it out of the way.
It’s the farthest I’ve ever ran before, with my runs lately I noticed that I get quite bored in my park and usually stop after one lap, so a mixture of laziness and boredom of my surroundings. This time I decided to change it up abit and run Regents Canal and more, not turning around until I heard “distance, 5 miles”. Looking at my map though it’s kind of obvious that I didn’t stick to the desired route, I got a bit lost…
It was a good run, and on concrete too, which is something I never like to run on but I thought, hey, when I do a marathon in the summer there’s going to be lots of this! Happy New Year everyone, I wish you all the best in achieving the goals you’ve set yourself!
Everyone that reads this blog, thank you. I wouldn’t have achieved my goals if it wasn’t for you and us fitblr’s are in this together, right until the end! It’s been an absolute roller coaster for me and everyday I see myself in a better way, never give up and impossible is just a word, anything can be achieved if you truly want it.
My Family have been fantastic with this, always giving me positive compliments and that always helps you go on.
My Close friends and Girlfriend have all been there with me every step of the way, always helped me go on showed me the positives of what I was doing, thank you guys!
I’ve completely turned my physical life around, when I resumed my running and everything back in May I was 15 and 3/4 stone. Today I’m weighing in at 12 stone and fitter than I’ve ever been in my life. I joined my university swimming team and even competed at the bucs (I say competed because I came 6th or 7th! ha). The team have also taken me in as one of their which was also nice ;).
All this time I’ve never received any negativity from my friends or family too, it’s not been an easy journey and the support I’ve got throughout this time has been great.
And a small review, some milestones I guess, yesterday I ran my farthest ever distance of 10 miles in 1 hour and 43 mins (more on that later). I’ve also signed up for a half marathon in March and in the summer I plan to run a marathon too.
Generally speaking I’ve gone from barely being able to walk a mile without dripping in sweat to running 10 miles without even getting hot ;). 2011 will be bigger and better things for me.
