Sweat.

I used to sweat a lot.

It was one of the reasons that I decided to do what I do now you know, run and keep fit. When I finished my run today I realised something that isn’t that rare of an occurence but today it had meaning, I was wearing a t-shirt that I don’t usually wear to run! Now I know it doesn’t seem that interesting but let me finish…I could remember the last time I ran with this t-shirt on, it was nearly a whole year ago. Now the t-shirt itself isn’t particularly special in anyway, it’s just a green t-shirt. But as I was walking off my run I remembered how much I was sweating the last time I wore it.

Back in June last year I was running about 2.6 miles regularly in 27 minutes, and this is what that t-shirt looked like afterwards.

Now we move on to today. As I look to start running frequently again, I ran 3 miles in 27 minutes in that same t-shirt, this is what it looked like afterwards, 10 months on.

I’ve highlighted the only “damp” part of the t-shirt. Strange though, because it only feels like yesterday…

Now I think I need to clear something up, I still sweat of course and can get a t-shirt nice and wet today too! But the point is that it’s harder for me to do that now.

Next years London Marathon...

So yesterday I remembered the ballot thing or whatever it’s called opened for the Ldn Marathon, as a runner of any kind I think there’s always some sort of aspiration to run in an event like this one. So yeah, I entered, no guaranteed place or anything and I won’t find out if I do or do not get that place for quite some time but I hope I get a place…it’s the effin’ London Marathon.

Man runs London Marathon - then another 99 miles home → mirror.co.uk

onthestrength:

via The Mirror UK:

MOST runners collapse in a heap after the London Marathon.

For Sam Robson though it was just the beginning – and he didn’t stop jogging until he reached home another 99 miles away.

His astonishing feat took him just 29 hours in which he burnt off 15,000 calories.

Waking up after his 125.2-mile mega trek yesterday, Sam, 28, said: “Running was fine but stopping was the hardest part.

“I had to have regular breaks to refill my water and whenever I stopped my legs seized up so I couldn’t rest for long. In terms of tiredness, my legs felt pretty good and the worst bit was I had to keep eating to replace all the calories I was burning.

“I woke up feeling surprisingly good. My hip was a bit sore but it feels okay now and my legs are fine.”

Epilepsy sufferer Sam, who works as a research scientist, finished the London Marathon in just three hours and 45 minutes on Sunday.

As fellow runners celebrated their 26-mile triumph, he carried on through the night to run 99 miles to his home town of St Ives, Cambs.

Fiancee Jen Sykes, 28, said: “He’s never done things by halves.”

Sam was running for the Epilepsy Society.

Mark: 125 miles in 29 consecutive hours??? If this isn’t OTS, nothing is…

Amazing

My Project for Today...is completed!

So earlier today I put up a post talking about my project for Today, I set myself goals and I achieved them! I covered 5 more topics in my Business Ethics module (fun fun fun…) and went for a run! This is what my room looks like right now, 5 seperate sets of notes, spread out with my handy tissue to help me combat the demon that is hayfever… Ignore ernie!

Now onto my run, I ran the park…1 lap at a nice pace too, it feels like so long since I’ve ran out in the open (I’ve been doing 1mi runs on the treadmills at the gym lately, when I’ve actually gone anyway) . Because of that excitement, I started off really quickly! My 1st mile was in 8:33. After that though my hayfever and reality check kicked in, I need to sneeze and my noise was getting blocked more and more each breathe I took so I had to pretty much just breath in & out with my mouth (See, now I’m giving lessons on survivability too…). 2nd mile was a whole minute slower at 9:39 but it felt better. When I was getting tired I just remembered something my swimming coach & bro tell me, “Don’t think about how much it hurts, but focus on your technique instead and let that distract you instead” I think it works brilliantly and helps you carry yourself better when you do most things.

Anyway, to sum up I felt like a mess and my eyes were really red, look!

So when I got home I jumped straight in the shower to wash whatever it is that causes my hayfever off and made this post :). This is how I looked after the run too, after my exams…I’m going to be living in the gym!

I seem to have put on a bit in the belly in the last couple of weeks…will have to fix that! Until next time folks, have a nice evening my UK people and a nice afternoon my Americano peoples x

Ok. Project for Today is to finish up on...

The next 5 topics I have to do for Business Ethics, hopefully finish up by 6 and then go for a run. I haven’t decided on how long yet but I’ll probably go for 1 lap of the park so 2.6 miles rather than 2 laps because I want to go swimming on Tuesday. So there’s my task for today, 5 topics & 1 run…babysteps!

Later on tonight I’ll start a post that I’ll put up tomorrow about my ups and downs regarding my weight too.

I went to make chocolate yesterday…this is my with my bag, looking like a boss.

Ha I can never take good pics, have a nice day everyone…it’s 9:30 here in the UK so time for a shower and then cornflakes…

P.S A big welcome to my new followers! :D x

So this week...

I gave blood! +1 for me, I nearly fainted again -1 for me…

I had to stay at the donation center for like an hour after giving blood to make sure I was ok to leave again lol but it was well worth it anyway!

Exercise wise I only did some training on Monday whilst at my friends place, we’re working together to get him fitter and it’s going along nicely, one of the reasons I started the blog was to encourage others like me to get up and get moving so it’s progress! I’m in dire need of cardio though and I’m miss swimming so much :(

Anything interesting happen to you guys over the week? Hello new followers as well! :D

you are so lucky that you havent go it yet! I am struggling, but it is slowly getting better as things stop blooming so crazily and the weather evens out a bit. I think it was just so bad because one day it got hot and EVERYTHING bloomed. But the best trick for me (I dunno if you have long enough hair for this to work hehe) is to wash my hair every night before going to bed - and whoever sleeps in your bed with you! And make sure the pillow cases at least get changed every few days. But I DO hope that you just get to skip the hayfever business completely, how awesome would that be!

It would be so great if I could. 2 years ago I didn’t get any hayfever and then last year it hit me like a train… :( I’m very wary this year now lol. I’ve cut my hair ;o it used to be long but I’ve cut it now, hopefully that works to some sort of advantage in the ongoing fight against grass and pollen lol. I know it’s not proper summer summer yet though so I’m keeping my guard up, thanks for the tip though!

I have no idea when you sent this message I just noticed it now :O. Just don’t OD on pills, that ruined me back in college haha have a nice day :D

Week Recap then...

In short, some good food, some bad food and not enough exercise! I’ve been studying a lot lately. I went to gym for the first time yesterday for a week! It felt good to work up a sweat though, it always does, doesn’t it?.

Now my agenda for tomorrow is to get a haircut and finish of this other section of Internet Marketing Revision. On Tuesday I plan to go for a swim at the mile end pool, it’s supposed to be nice!

Until next time peeps, stay good! And well done / good luck / keep on truckin’ to all our marathon participants today :)

So I went for a short run the day before yesterday...

And I began to wonder…Waay back when I started the blog and had ‘my fat tips’ up, I recommended people to wear headphones whilst they ran.

Last summer my iPod headphone jack broke and my iPhone songs simply weren’t up to scratch! So I started leaving the songs  behind and just running ‘naked’ (in a way anyway, naked running would have me more followers and a criminal record!).

But as I ran in the park the other day I think I spotted 1 other person running without headphones and the other 49 were fully prepared with their various iPhone / iPod headphones and other ones in all wonderful shapes and sizes. Me and the other guy were definitely the odd ones out.

I don’t think I can go back to running with headphones anytime in the near future though, I enjoy listening to the sound of my feet on the grass, gravel or pavement, it sets the rhythm for my run. It’s also handy to hear when someone’s behind you and going to overtake you lol.

So yeah…running with headphones is cool, but so is running without em! Give it a try some time ;)
