I’m Scared

On the date listed above, in just over 2 months in fact. I will be walking up to the start line of my second ever Marathon. As you know, in April I ran the Virgin London Marathon. It was one of the greatest experiences in my life and I truly believe it was a monumental moment in my life so far.

Can the Berlin Marathon live up to that experience? Of course not! VLM was on home turf and we had the zone that was Mile 21.

Look. It took a lot out of me. Changed me as a person and to be honest, I’m still recovering from the emotional journey that it was. I have only had 2 runs since April 22nd that have been over 6 miles. I haven’t trained for this Marathon, I will start soon but as things stand I don’t feel like it will be the same as the build up to April but lets see what happens.

I start training tomorrow and to be perfectly honest, I’m scared. I’m scared of what it will do to my body. I’m scared of how it will affect my social life. I’m scared of how it will affect my working life. I’m scared of the person that it’s going to make me be. I’m scared of not reaching my potential and I’m scared of being faced with failure on September 30th.

It’s going to be an interesting journey, lets see what happens!
