Keeping Up With Shameek
Anyone that knows Shameek will tell you that he’s not human. in fact, I have photographic evidence to prove that he is a fuel driven cyborg. The man gets insane fuel, all of his ‘best days’ are in double digits and the man boasts a 17,000 fuel day. Last Wednesday I took on the challenge that is to #keepupwithshameek.
The day starts early at the Nike+ Fuelstation in Clapham Common, we have an NTC class at 7am which means the staff need to be inside the space from 06:30am. It’s an ungodly hour to get the house and even worse when you can’t catch the first train from your station because it means you’ll be late! This early start is used as an opportunity to get the fuel ball rolling. We walked to Stratford from Hackney Wick, which takes about 30 minutes! It used to be quicker until the canals and greenways got closed.
After that, you start ‘living’ at work. We put on some TR1’s and hit the drill packs. We also played football and table tennis at work, helping rack up fuel. There’s no sitting down, just fuel and energy! The weird thing is that I didn’t feel that tired throughout the day at all, maybe the buzz of all that activitiy was keeping me going somehow?
After the shift at work where I was already on serious fuel. I was on my way back home to prepare for my RDCY Hackney session where we ‘ran to food’. It was a great run and I was still fueled for greatness, once I sat down at Nando’s though, it was game over. I wasn’t interested in getting fuel after all the food I had!
I look forward to who I have to #KeepUpWith next. Check out the Fuel Below!
