Happy Birthday Charlie Dark!

Sir Charlie Dark. Friend to many and a mentor to all. I have wanted to write this for a long time but the right moment has always eluded me. With it being your birthday today, on Monday the 29th of October, 2012. I think the right time has finally come.

I want to thank you for what you have done for me. When I run, race, blog, talk and enjoy experiences I will always have people to thank for giving me those opportunities but I know that you - no matter what - will remain a constant as one of those people. You changed my life for the better and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Your vast life experiences have helped shape you into the man that you are today and with that you can pass on these rich experiences to those around you. To young people like me. And that is so important in todays world. You showed me so much, how to talk, write and more importantly, believe in myself.

I know that with the experiences you have given me and the lessons you have taught to me that when the right time comes, I will be a better man because of you.

I hope we can have many more experiences together and both continue to grow.

Today is your day. The day to look back on your achievements and be damn proud of yourself. I am proud to know you and call my friend. The people whose lives you have affected is an endless one and I thank you for that.
