6 Days To Go
FYI - I totally forgot to post this last week.
There’s no running away from it now. I will run a second marathon in 6 days time. 26.2 miles for the second time in my life! What have I become?! As I said yesterday, I think my decision to run 10 marathons in 10 years is an odd one but we will see where it takes me. I get to work with the best sportswear and running brand in the world next week and interact with over 40 people that not only run marathons, but have similar interests to myself. As I prepare for my five stone project and blog it will be a great experience for me.
Yes I won’t get a PB but there’s so much more on offer for me, there’s opportunities, connections to be made and once in a lifetime experiences to be had, who would turn all of that down?! I’m young and exploring the world through a lifestyle tht has changed my life, not many people my age can say that they’ve done that.
Yes I am blowing my own trumpet.
But before a Marathon you have to get in Marathon mode, and that means blowing your own trumpet. I thank the people that have got me here, Daniel Maskitt for his ongoing support to me since April, my beautiful girlfriend for staying by my side when I was a man ready to quit, my ever loving mother for showing me that I can continue to make people proud as long as I try my best and to Charlie Dark who reminded me that running is like life, it’s hard. He also reminded me that I have time on my side and that I can do it! My run dem crew family is strong and I thank everyone for their well wishes that I received on Tuesday, you are all in my heart whilst I pound the German Capitals streets with RDC plastered on my back, ready for war.
I will enjoy myself next week and take in the experience for all it’s worth, Nike is a great company, Berlin is an extraordinary City and the international groups need no compliments for we know what they can bring to ones life.
My friends,
Thank you.
This is what starts today. I have to jump in at week 8 but lets do this. I think I’ve only been happy on a couple of runs lately, and those were long distance runs, that’s where I find my peace. If I can do this Marathon in September then there’s nothing I can’t do!
I’m Scared

On the date listed above, in just over 2 months in fact. I will be walking up to the start line of my second ever Marathon. As you know, in April I ran the Virgin London Marathon. It was one of the greatest experiences in my life and I truly believe it was a monumental moment in my life so far.
Can the Berlin Marathon live up to that experience? Of course not! VLM was on home turf and we had the zone that was Mile 21.
Look. It took a lot out of me. Changed me as a person and to be honest, I’m still recovering from the emotional journey that it was. I have only had 2 runs since April 22nd that have been over 6 miles. I haven’t trained for this Marathon, I will start soon but as things stand I don’t feel like it will be the same as the build up to April but lets see what happens.
I start training tomorrow and to be perfectly honest, I’m scared. I’m scared of what it will do to my body. I’m scared of how it will affect my social life. I’m scared of how it will affect my working life. I’m scared of the person that it’s going to make me be. I’m scared of not reaching my potential and I’m scared of being faced with failure on September 30th.
It’s going to be an interesting journey, lets see what happens!
LET US PREPARE FOR BERLIN

Over this weekend, we make history. A few hundred people will run descend upon Berlin and they’ll all be good friends, even though they haven’t met face to yet…they just know it.
We’re united by our unhealthy love for Lycra and running through our cities under the cover of darkness. Training under that blanket for this weekend my friends. This weekend where we all come together to share ideas and experiences that will help us celebrate each step on that 13.1 mile course.
When we rock up to that starting line, we come as the strongest team the world. We have put the training in on Tuesday nights. Fought through the pain on track Thursdays whilst showing our City who runs what on long Sunday runs. Together, there will be no others that are better.
We are Bridgerunners. We are RC8K. We are NRBO. We are Graviteam. We are Run Dem Crew.
WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE
